Position Overview:
We are seeking an experienced HR Associate who will be instrumental in supporting our human resources functions, including recruitment, onboarding, and employee engagement. This role requires a motivated and detail-oriented person and it offers a unique opportunity to contribute to a meaningful cause while gaining valuable experience in the nonprofit sector.
Your Impact on our Mission:
This position is critical to our mission and the key responsibilities you will perform as a part of our Team include, but are not limited to:
- Assist in the recruitment process, including posting job openings and coordinating with the social media team to announce job openings, and coordinating interviews
- Support the onboarding process for new volunteers, ensuring a smooth transition into the organization and making recommendations for improvements
- Help develop and implement engagement strategies to foster a positive and inclusive work environment
- Maintain accurate HR records and assist with administrative tasks as needed
- Collaborate with other departments to support HR initiatives and organizational goals
- Assist in the creation, maintenance, and updating of Policies and Standard Operating Procedures
What you will bring to the Team:
Along with their passion for our mission, the successful candidate will possess the following qualifications:
- 1+ years of experience in human resources or a related field
- Strong interest in HR functions such as recruitment, onboarding, and engagement
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks and priorities
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Proficiency in Google Suite
- Ability to work collaboratively with a diverse team-oriented environment
- Prior experience with a non-profit organization is preferred
- Location within the 48 contiguous United States is highly preferred
Applicants must also have the ability to attend periodic meetings conducted during regular business hours in the Central Standard (CST) Time Zone. We are looking for someone who can dedicate a few hours per week, and can commit for at least 6 months (though we’d love to have you even longer!).
