Amedisys Hospice is seeking compassionate, reliable volunteers to join our Tuck-In Call program. This remote opportunity offers a meaningful way to support hospice patients and their families by providing companionship and ensuring their comfort and readiness for the weekend.
As a Tuck-In Call Volunteer, you will make friendly, supportive phone calls to patients and/or their caregivers. These calls serve a dual purpose: offering much-needed social connection and verifying that families have the supplies, medications, and services they need before the weekend begins.
Responsibilities:
Make approximately 12-15 phone calls each week to assigned patients or caregivers.
Provide companionship and emotional support through friendly conversation.
Ask a brief set of check-in questions to confirm that families have everything they need (e.g., medications, supplies, equipment).
Document any concerns or needs and promptly relay them to the clinical team.
Maintain confidentiality and professionalism at all times.
Attend a one-time orientation and training session (virtual).
Commit to consistent weekly participation, with flexible timing based on your schedule.
Qualifications:
Kind, empathetic, and a good listener.
Comfortable speaking on the phone with patients and families.
Dependable and able to maintain a consistent volunteer schedule.
Must be 18 years of age or older.
Must reside in the U.S. and pass a background check.
Hospice or healthcare experience is a plus but not required-training is provided.
Benefits:
Make a meaningful difference in the lives of hospice patients and families.
Gain valuable experience in healthcare, social work, or volunteer services.
Enjoy the flexibility of volunteering remotely on your own schedule.
Be part of a supportive and compassionate care team.

Mission Statement
At Amedisys Hospice we empower our patients to live each day of their lives fully by offering comfort, dignity, and quality of life. Our patient-centered care aims to support patients through a multi-faceted approach: physically, mentally, and psychosocially.
Description
As an organization, we strive to provide the highest level of care possible to our patients and their families. In doing so we have developed programs to address the various needs of those under our care. Most notably our veteran's program and dementia care program.
Our We Honor Veterans Program endeavors to meet the unique challenges faced by those who served in the armed forces. By recognizing their unique contributions, giving them the space and opportunity to give voice to their stories, as well as provide them the socialization and companionship of veteran volunteers. Each year pinning ceremonies take place to honor and uplift these amazing individuals.
Our Dementia Program offers specialized support to our patients. Whether it be the use of condition-specific implements to ease day to day tasks, chart-a-life posters to help document patient narratives and facilitate conversation, or items for use in aiding in calm.
