Mission Statement
Our MISSION is to empower hope and healing by raising awareness and funds for Parkinson's research while transforming environments through trauma-informed practices. We are dedicated to advancing scientific discovery and fostering resilient, compassionate communities for children, schools, families and caregivers on the critical impact of trauma-informed care.
Description
The Oxx Foundation was established by Michelle Oxx following her diagnosis with Parkinson's Disease on March 11, 2020. Inspired by her journey and the support from her family and friends, Michelle founded the organization to help others affected by Parkinson's and to promote trauma-informed care in educational environments. The foundation aims to empower hope and healing by raising funds for Parkinson's research, transform educational environments through trauma-informed practices, and advance scientific discovery to find a cure for Parkinson's Disease. The Oxx Foundation runs several impactful programs, including Parkinson's Awareness Initiatives, which raise awareness and support research efforts; Trauma-Informed Care, which educates schools and parents on the importance of trauma-informed practices to foster resilient and compassionate communities; and a Scholarship Fund, which provides financial support to students impacted by trauma. Some notable achievements of the foundation include successfully raising funds for Parkinson's research, implementing trauma-informed practices in various educational settings, and organizing community events like the "We Are Stronger Together Walk" in Seaside Heights, NJ. The foundation's vision is for a world where groundbreaking research leads to a cure for Parkinson’s Disease and every child thrives in trauma-informed educational environments.
