Volunteer Opportunity: Community Outreach Liaison
Organization: Mothers Of Veteran Suicide (MOVS)
Location: Nationwide
Time Commitment: Flexible, ~5 hours/month
About Us:
Mothers Of Veteran Suicide (MOVS) is a nonprofit dedicated to providing HOPE and healing to Mothers and Families who have lost a Military or Veteran loved one to suicide. We aim to build a nationwide movement of support, advocacy, and postvention outreach.
Opportunity:
We are seeking compassionate and motivated individuals to serve as Volunteer Community Outreach Liaisons. This is a meaningful role for someone who wants to make a difference in the lives of Veteran Families that have lost a loved one to suicide. Our goal is to build local awareness and strengthening community connections.
What You’ll Do:
- Represent MOVS within your community to grow local presence
- Build relationships with Veteran organizations, mental health professionals, and community leaders
- Coordinate or participate in awareness events and campaigns
- Help connect families to MOVS programs and support resources
- Share MOVS mission through social media, community talks, or outreach efforts
What We’re Looking For:
- Passion for Military and Veteran family suicide survivors, mental health awareness, and supporting grieving families
- Strong communication skills and a heart for service
- Self-motivated and reliable; able to work independently
- Familiarity with local Veteran or community resources is a plus
- Must reside in the community you’re applying to represent
