Are you passionate about helping refugees and other immigrant newcomers integrate and become self-sufficient? Become an ESL instructor! One World One Love is a nonprofit that supports refugees and other newcomers in Union County. We're seeking individuals to teach beginner and intermediate ESL on-site in Elizabeth, NJ. Classes will be weekday mornings and afternoons. TESOL certification or experience teaching ESL to adults is a huge plus. This could evolve into a paid part-time position. One World One Love, NJ (1W1L) is a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization of ordinary citizens working together to welcome refugees and asylum seekers fleeing war, trauma or persecution abroad. We believe that everyone deserves the opportunity to raise their children and build their future in a safe, supportive environment.
Description
Founded in 2016, One World One Love welcomes refugees and asylum seekers to central NJ with material, educational, and employment support. We work closely with resettlement agencies such as the International Rescue Committee to support newly-arrived refugee families in myriad ways - from setting up fully-furnished homes to community orientation, ESL tutoring to job-search coaching. Last year, we served over 500 individuals across our many programs, all because of the dedication and efforts of our volunteers.
