Description
A FREE family oriented event, presented in an open air festival setting, DRUMS ALONG THE HUDSON: A NATIVE AMERICAN FESTIVAL provides a unique opportunity for the NY metro audience to experience Native American traditions, values, history and contributions to New York. The event includes the performance of authentic Native American drumming and social, unity, and fancy dances, Native American craft demonstrations, storytelling, crafts and food vendors. This year, as the drum is the heartbeat of the earth, the festival will include a presentation of traditional dance and percussive music performances from around the world. DRUMS ALONG THE HUDSON includes the ceremonial planting of a white pine tree, a symbol of peace for the Iroquois Nation.
