Since the 1950's, CCEJ (and our ancestral org NCCJ) have operated a camp for youth to learn how to prevent prejudice and promote inclusion in our schools and communities. The camp has changed its name over the years, from Anytown Camp in the 50's/60's, to Brotherhood Camp (and later Brotherhood Sisterhood Camp) in the 70's through the 90's, to what's now known as Building Bridges Camp.
At our office in Long Beach, we have treasures in the archives - printed black & white group photos of Campers from the 1950's, slides from the 1970's, VHS tapes and more - all in need of digitization and organization in electronic format.
- If you have access to a scanner (or simply know how to use one), donate a few hours of your time at the CCEJ office o
- If you have access to a VHS converter, you can help us preserve these TV programs and other footage for future generations of Campers!
- If you are located outside of Los Angeles, you can help us organize the files in our online Alumni Google Drive to help everyone access these memories.

Mission Statement
The California Conference for Equality & Justice educates and empowers youth and adults to lead change for equity and justice in our communities.
Description
For 60 years, the California Conference for Equality and Justice (CCEJ) has been building a world where people live free of oppression and thrive. Our mission is to educate and empower youth and adults to lead change for equity and justice in our communities. At CCEJ, we lead people of all backgrounds in deep examinations of power and privilege at the personal and societal levels, inspiring them to build community across differences and work together to advance equity, inclusion and justice. We create "brave" spaces for participants to discuss vulnerable topics such as the harmful impacts of racism and discrimination, and to create plans for action and change. Our programs incorporate Restorative Justice practices to support youth and adults to increase their resiliency and ability to address identity-based conflict. CCEJ believes that everyone has a role to play in transforming our schools, workplaces and communities to be more just and equitable. We provide experiential, interactive training and coaching on inclusion, equity and Restorative Justice for more than 3,000 adults annually. Each year, we support more than 1,500 youth and young adults to develop self-awareness and leadership skills through programs such as Building Bridges Camp (a descendant of NCCJ’s Brotherhood Sisterhood Camp), Conscious Classrooms, and Restorative Youth Diversion.
