Lend the Earth a hand at Pickering Creek Audubon Center during our Earth Week Volunteer Day. Volunteers will have the opportunity to help us care for our Pollinator Garden and filled with native plants that support local wildlife and for our trails that keep nature acessible to casual Center visitors and school groups. Volunteers are encouraged to wear study shoes suitable to gardening and being out on the trails and bring along a water bottle, gloves, bug spray and other personal items they may need. We will provide tools for gardening and trail work as well as have extra gloves on hand to borrow.

Description

Pickering Creek is owned and operated by Chesapeake Audubon Society. A commitment to education is at the heart of the Pickering Creek tradition. By inspiring more people in more places to value and protect the natural world, we are laying the foundation for future conservation. The Center features over 400 acres with mature forest, wetlands, meadows and waterfront that are accessed by over five miles of trails. The Center primarily offers programs to school children throughout the year, however also welcomes the public free of charge, to discover its trails, open daily from dawn to dusk. Pickering Creek serves over 16,000 students a year for science and environmental education programs.
