Are you passionate about storytelling, writing, or nonprofit development? Join us at the Centre for Youth and Sustainable Development (CYSD) as a volunteer writer to help craft our 2024 Annual Report and showcase the impact we've made across communities in Cameroon.
About Us:
CYSD is a grassroots nonprofit committed to transforming lives through education, child protection, humanitarian aid, and sustainable development in conflict-affected regions of Cameroon. Since 2019, we’ve reached over 2000 households and we need your help to tell our story!
What You’ll Do:
As an annual report volunteer, you will:
- Gather and organize content from our team and field reports
- Draft compelling narratives of our 2024 activities, outcomes, and impact
- Help edit and design a professional, easy-to-read report for donors and stakeholders
- Collaborate with our communications team to ensure accuracy and consistency
Skills We’re Looking For:
Strong writing and editing skills (nonprofit or journalistic style preferred)
Experience in communications, journalism, marketing, or grant writing
Ability to synthesize information into concise, impactful language
Basic layout/design skills (Canva, Word, or Adobe tools are a plus)
Detail-oriented with strong organizational skills
Experience working with nonprofits (especially in international development) is a bonus
Time Commitment:
Flexible-around 3-5 hours per week from April to May 2025, fully remote.

Within this mission, we operate and run several programmes ranging from Education, Social and Economic Development, Gender-based violence, environmental conservation, Community health education and others.
Description
The goal of CYSD is to break the cycle of educational inequality by tackling the root cause of high dropout rates in secondary schools, particularly concerning insufficient reading proficiency among primary school children in the Munyenge community. Additionally, our organization is committed to enhancing the living conditions of vulnerable populations, including orphans, street children, internally displaced children due to the ongoing conflict in the English-speaking regions of Cameroon, youth, individuals grappling with substance abuse, teenagers, women, and sex workers in both rural and urban settings.
