Join us in honoring one of the most significant moments in American history. The Juneteenth @160 Festival commemorates the 160th anniversary of Juneteenth through a dynamic, educational, and community-rooted experience hosted by the Buffalo Soldiers National Museum.
This multi-day festival includes:
A powerful living history encampment honoring the United States Colored Troops (USCT)
An art exhibition curated with local artists and scholars
Family-friendly educational programming, performances, and more
We’re looking for volunteers to support this meaningful event through:
Guest check-in and crowd flow
Artist/vendor coordination and hospitality
Set-up and breakdown of venues
Youth and family activity support
Wayfinding and accessibility
A/V, media, and registration assistance
Available shifts: June 17-23 with Multiple roles and times
All volunteers will receive orientation, a BSNM volunteer shirt, and food/refreshments, and access to private events at El Dorado Ballroom on Saturday, 8-11 pm for the closing celebration with sponsors, artists, and community partners.
This is a unique opportunity to support an event that centers Houston’s role in emancipation and celebrates the contributions of African American soldiers.
