Volunteering at 5 Loaves during our weekday or weekend schedule is a rewarding way to serve your community and bring hope to families in need. Each week, we prepare and distribute groceries to over 800 families, and we rely on volunteers to make it all happen.

Opportunities are available Monday through Friday, with shifts that include sorting and packing food, stocking shelves, assisting families during distribution, and helping with setup and cleanup. No experience is needed-just a willing heart and a few hours of your time.

Description

5 Loaves Food Pantry began with a mission to serve families in need with compassion, dignity, and hope. What started as a small effort has grown into a vital community hub, serving over 800 families weekly with nutritious food, hygiene products, and support services. Our goal is to not only fight hunger but to empower families through education, resources, and a caring community.

Beyond food distribution, we provide programs through our Beacon of Hope Program-offering mental health counseling, financial counseling, and more is coming. We also host seasonal events like Christmas for the Children and school supply drives, ensuring every child feels seen and supported.

Thanks to dedicated volunteers and donors, we've made a measurable impact: millions of pounds of food distributed, thousands of children supported, and countless lives touched. Join us in continuing this mission-your time, heart, and hands can make a lasting difference.

REQUIREMENTS

  • This is a Done in a Day opportunity and there is no prior training or ongoing commitment needed.
  • Must be at least 16
  • Volunteers serve weekdays from 9:00 AM to 12:30 PM. Commit to one day a week or come as you're able—every hour makes a difference!
  • Volunteers must be at least 12 years old (under 16 must be accompanied by an adult), wear closed-toe shoes, and be able to lift light items. A caring attitude and willingness to serve are a must!
