I Want To Mow Your Lawn Inc. is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit founded during the pandemic to offer free lawn care relief to older adults, veterans, and others in need who can't afford regular landscaping. We match local volunteers with nearby homeowners to help maintain their yards-and bring joy to their lives.
All homeowners are pre-screened and vetted by our team to ensure safe, appropriate matches. We also provide volunteer accident insurance coverage at no cost to you for extra peace of mind while serving.
No long-term commitment required, just a desire to do good outdoors. If you have your own basic landscaping equipment, that's a bonus-but not required. Come as you are, lend a hand when you can, and help us grow kindness, one yard at a time.
We offer an optional online dashboard to help log hours and track your landscaping impact-but using it is totally up to you. Active helpers who choose to track their efforts may unlock exclusive perks-including branded apparel, yard signs, upgraded tools, personalized business cards, and even your own dedicated email and phone extension.

Description

I Want To Mow Your Lawn(r) is a registered 501(c)(3) non-profit organization (Tax ID: 85-3447661) that connects homeowners in need with a nationwide network of passionate landscaping volunteers. Launched in 2020 amidst the COVID-19 pandemic, we provide completely free lawn care services to seniors over 65, military veterans, individuals with disabilities, and those facing financial challenges, while prioritizing eco-friendly practices and fostering community connection.

Founded by Brian Schwartz after being laid off from his digital advertising job, the initiative began as a way to stay engaged during a difficult time. It has since grown into a thriving platform with over 1,300 volunteers across the USA and even some enlisted in other countries. With their help, we've revitalized countless yards, spreading kindness one lawn at a time.

Thanks to support from leading battery-powered equipment manufacturers and recognition in major media outlets, I Want To Mow Your Lawn(r) has become a growing, trademarked brand. Our mission connects the dots between homeowners and volunteers, offering relief while encouraging neighbors to lend a hand and make a difference. Whether it's trimming, edging, or just showing up to say hello, our volunteers help transform neighborhoods into stronger, greener communities.
