Farms for Life ensures the viability of local sustainable farms and provides fresh produce to members of our community who are underserved.

Farms for Life is a volunteer run organization that relies on the dedication of our volunteer board and committee members. We are looking for a volunteer to join our board as the Operations Chair. In this role, you would oversee the logisits of our produce packaging and delivery processes. This would include the following tasks:

• Being the main point of Contact for Farms and Agencies

• Creating, accepting, and reviewing applications for potential new agencies

• Conducting pre-season reviews of participating and potential farms

• Conducting interviewing and hiring for employee position(s)

• Supervision of weekly produce budgeting/ spending

• Supervision of weekly Operations employee hours

• Submission of monthly employee hours to Accountant

• Submission of monthly farm order totals to Bookkeeper

• Attendance of monthly board meeting. We meet on the third Wednesday of each month

Estimated volunteer time: 10-15 hours/month

Work hours vary, with more hours generally required during the growing season (June-October) and early preseason (February-April)

*This position is primarily remote, but the ability to travel to Redmond occassionally to drop off supplies, or help with packaging, is preferred.

*Position requires the ability to answer emails in a timely manner, as you may receive emails and messages regarding produce and delivery issues.

*We use Local Food Marketplace for our ordering system. Knowledge of this system is a plus, but not required. Training will be provided.

*Position requires knowledge of Excel and ability to use and edit spreadsheets.
