Please visit the new page to apply.
Opportunity to support a large, year-long fundraising project for the benefit of the New Library. Participants may choose from a large number of Moorpark Library or Moorpark City Events for approximately two-hour shifts at either or both events and locations. The events will include large-attendance activities at the Library, such as the opening of the Summer Reading Program or special-experience events for adults or children, assisting with check-in, distribution of materials, or taking part in directing an activity. For City events, participants may help to staff a Friends of the Library booth by handing out promotional materials, taking part in a craft demonstration, or interacting with attendees to attract them to the booth. Friends of the Library plan on providing a booth at such City events as Country Days, Haunted High Street, Holiday on High, Earth Fest, and the Apricot Festival. Friends' members have found these events to be enjoyable experiences in meeting other members of our Moorpark community and taking part in the activities.

Mission Statement
The Friends is an independent non-profit organization specifically tasked with raisng funds for the Moorpark library and to support the library in any other way we can.
Description
We are a volunteer group of community members, moms, dads, young adults, retirees, friends and neighbors. We love our library and want to help it grow into a multi-purpose community service meeting the literacy, educational and related needs of our community. Some of our support efforts include: raising funds for the library through our in-library book store and book sales; purchasing book club books; sponsoring annual summer reading clubs; supporting children and teen reading programs; and much more. Although we exclusively support the library, we are not actually part of the library, but we work so closely together that it's easy to see us as one organization.
