Role Summary:

We’re seeking a passionate Back End Web Developer to support the development of our websites, education platforms, and data systems. You’ll work with a team of volunteer engineers, educators, and designers to build the backbone of platforms that teach and empower youth around the world.

Responsibilities:

Design and implement RESTful APIs for our learning portals and organizational tools

Develop database schemas and integrate with front-end components

Collaborate with front-end developers, AI tutors, and bioprinting researchers to ensure system integrity

Optimize performance, scalability, and security

Help manage cloud infrastructure and deployment pipelines (e.g., AWS, Vercel, Firebase, etc.)

Contribute to documentation and mentor other volunteers or student interns when possible

Preferred Skills:

Proficiency in Node.js, Python, or Go

Experience with databases like PostgreSQL, MongoDB, or Firebase

Familiarity with cloud platforms (AWS, GCP, or Azure)

Experience with authentication systems (OAuth2, Firebase Auth, etc.)

Interest in or curiosity about emerging tech like AI, robotics, or bioprinting

Git and version control proficiency

Strong communication and collaboration skills

Bonus (Not Required):

Interest in open-source

Experience with GraphQL

Familiarity with educational platforms or LMS tools

Past contributions to nonprofits or community tech projects
