Join us in taking on various projects to improve refuge visitor facilities, including trails and refuge access points! No experience necessary, but some crew members who consider themselves handy would be appreciated. Possible projects include:
- Minor trail repairs.
- Adding new mile marker posts.
- Maintaining stickers on mile marker posts.
- Manually removing noxious weeds.
- Posting boundary signs.
- Picking up litter.
- Painting.
Time Commitment: 9 AM - 12PM on Wednesdays. Volunteers are welcome every week, but that is not required. Sign ups sheets will be sent every week.

Description
Deer Flat National Wildlife Refuge, founded by President Theodore Roosevelt on February 25, 1909, is one of the oldest refuges in the National Wildlife Refuge System (NWRS).
Managed by the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service, the System preserves a network of lands and waters set aside for the conservation and management of the nation's fish, wildlife, and plant resources for the benefit of present and future generations.
Deer Flat National Wildlife Refuge needs your talents, enthusiasm, and time! If you appreciate and are concerned about the refuge and its wildlife, then consider becoming a refuge volunteer.
