Mission Statement

The North Valley Valley Family YMCA is committed to strengthening the foundations of our communities by putting Judeo-Christian principles into practice through programs that build healthy spirit, mind and body for all. We have three areas of focus:

  • Youth Development, because children and teens need caring adults to provide support, guidance and encouragement as they grow.
  • Healthy Living, because wellness in spirit, mind and body strengthens our very being, and enhances our interactions with others.
  • Social Responsibility, because we truly are all in this together, and together we can harness our individual strengths and bring about positive change around us.

Description

With a service area that encompasses the entire north part of the San Fernando Valley, including the cities of Arleta, Sylmar, Pacoima, San Fernando, Mission Hills, North Hills, Granada Hills, Northridge, Porter Ranch and Chatsworth, our community’s demographic is very diverse. We serve over 20,000 youth annually, ages 3 months to 18 years, through a variety of programs that include before and after school programs, infant and preschool programs, classes and programs for parents and young children, youth sports and school-based physical education, resident and day camping programs, and health, fitness, and aquatics programs for people of all ages, abilities, and interests.

Please help us with Campaign!

Every January - February, we hold annual Community Support Campaign teams where we go out and ask people to support our Y. Can you help us? Are you ready for the challenge? Please email Adam Pilder at adampilder@ymcala.org.
