IFN offers three dynamic, student-led internships designed for individuals passionate about neuroscience, mental health, and creative communication. All internships are remote-friendly, flexible, and offer opportunities for leadership, collaboration, and national volunteer recognition through the President’s Volunteer Service Award (PVSA).
1. Research Intern
Dive into projects at the intersection of neuroscience and music. Research interns explore how music impacts cognitive health, memory, and emotional well-being. Responsibilities include literature reviews, data collection, and contributing to studies that may be presented or published.
2. Podcast Intern
Help bring neuroscience to life through audio storytelling. Podcast interns assist with episode planning, guest coordination, and scripting for IFN’s podcast series. This role is ideal for students interested in science communication and public engagement.
3. Editing Intern
Shape and polish IFN’s digital voice. Editing interns work on refining podcast audio, reviewing written content, and ensuring clarity and impact across platforms. This role is perfect for detail-oriented creatives who want to make science more accessible.
As either intern your responsibilities may include:
- Conducting literature reviews on relevant neuroscience and therapeutic topics
- Designing and supporting studies related to music therapy, memory, or neurodiversity
- Assisting in data collection, analysis, and the development of research reports
- Collaborating with fellow interns, mentors, and healthcare professionals
- Presenting findings through community webinars, social media, or written publications
Research interns also support IFN’s mission by helping translate complex scientific ideas into accessible content for the public. Outstanding interns may have the opportunity to co-author papers, present at conferences, or contribute to clinical collaborations.
This is an ideal opportunity for students passionate about neuroscience, psychology, music, medicine, or public health, who want to make a meaningful impact through research and service.

We value equity, curiosity, empathy, and collaboration, and we welcome volunteers who are passionate about making a difference through innovative, science-backed service.
Description
Info For Neuroscience (IFN) is a student-led nonprofit dedicated to improving cognitive and mental health through neuroscience education and music-based service. Founded to make brain science more accessible and impactful, IFN blends research, creativity, and community engagement to promote well-being.
Our flagship program, Calm Minds Connected Brains (CMCB), empowers volunteers to create therapeutic playlists grounded in music therapy principles. These playlists are shared with nursing homes, hospitals, and rehabilitation centers to support emotional and cognitive health. For every 15 songs, volunteers earn 1 service hour and write short reflections to ensure meaningful engagement.
We also host educational webinars, community outreach events, and awareness campaigns to destigmatize neurological conditions and promote the role of music and science in healing.
Now fiscally sponsored by Hack Club, IFN can accept tax-deductible donations, apply for grants, and officially award the President’s Volunteer Service Award (PVSA) to recognize the service of our volunteers. Our work has reached diverse communities and continues to grow through research, advocacy, and youth leadership.
Join us to make a difference in lives through science, music, and service.
