AL!VE Nonprofit Management Internship Position Description
Opportunity Summary
The AL!VE Career Development Program offers college, university, and graduate students-as well as professionals seeking growth-an immersive opportunity to gain firsthand experience in association management and nonprofit operations. This program is designed to provide participants with valuable hands-on training that enhances their skill sets, strengthens their résumés, and prepares them for future leadership roles. Through this experience, participants develop the expertise needed to advance their careers while also creating a pathway to potentially join the AL!VE community as Board Members, contractors, staff, or dedicated volunteers. Responsibilities will include:· Support the Executive Director in managing the organization’s event calendar coordination.
· Manage general mailbox inquiries responding to emails, and phone calls with professionalism and efficiency.
· Record meeting minutes and track action items to ensure timely follow-ups and accountability.
· Conduct research and compile key data to support strategic decision-making.
· Monitor deadlines and ensure projects and initiatives stay on track for successful completion.
· Assist in HR functions, including volunteer recruitment, onboarding, and training.
· Contribute to pilot programs, offering insights and recommendations for program development and improvement.
· Manage and maintain organizational records and digital filing systems to ensure efficiency.
· Review metrics data to identify organizational trends.
· Identify emerging industry trends and best practices enhance organizational strategy and innovation.
· Monitor social media for AL!VE mentions and engagement
Qualifications
· Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
· Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, Google Workspace, and virtual meeting platforms (e.g., Zoom).
· Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English.
· Self-motivated and capable of working independently.
· Familiarity with remote work.
· Ability to work on several projects at a time
· Demonstrated relationship-building skills
· Ability to communicate effectively with diverse populations.
· Technologically savvy
· Experience in nonprofit or volunteer engagement is a plus but not required.
Program Requirements
● Junior/Senior or graduate status, pursuing a degree in Nonprofit Administration, Business Management, Human Resources Project Management, Event Planning
● Minimum 15 hours up to 24 hours of availability weekly
● Strong interest Volunteer Engagement, Nonprofit Administration
