Event description: Hosted among the towering redwoods at the historic Roaring Camp, our first-ever Redwoods Festival will bring together supporters to celebrate these magnificent trees. The event will feature live music, scenic train rides, guided hiking tours, delicious food trucks, and plenty of family-friendly fun! Join us as a volunteer and play an essential role in making this unforgettable celebration of redwoods a success!
Volunteers will work closely with Sempervirens Fund’s Event Planning Team and their partner, Gather Collective Co., to assist with a variety of event activities, including guest check-ins, guiding attendees to different festival areas, leading hikes, providing educational experiences, and ensuring the event runs smoothly for a memorable day. Mission Statement
Sempervirens Fund’s mission is to protect and permanently preserve redwood (Sequoia sempervirens) forests, wildlife habitat, watersheds, and other important natural and scenic features of California’s Santa Cruz Mountains, and to encourage public appreciation and enjoyment of this environment.
Description
Sempervirens Fund protects, connects and cares for the local redwood forests between Silicon Valley and the Pacific Ocean - while we open up more ways for people to enjoy them. Since 1900, Sempervirens Fund has permanently protected more than 53 square miles of local redwood forests and watersheds for people, wildlife and future generations. As California’s oldest land trust and the only organization focused entirely on this local redwood forest, Sempervirens Fund works on behalf of the community to re-establish a vast, beautiful, accessible redwood world that provides crucial refuge and recreation in our own backyard.
