My Sister's Place Women's Center, provides safe shelter for homeless women and their children everyday from 7am - 7pm. Come meet our women and share some of your passions and talents.
Our workshop facilitators should focus their workshops surrounding one of the 8 realms of wellness: emotional, physical, occupational, social, spiritual, intellectual, environmental, and financial. This can include workshops such as yoga, self defense, gardening, self-care practices, job readiness, religious groups of all kinds, journaling, and more.
Workshop facilitators will go through a screening process beforehand to review experience and content of the workshops.
All volunteers must be vaccinated.

Mission Statement
My Sister's Place Women Center is a program of Catholic Charities. The mission of Catholic Charities is threefold: provide healing and care to those in need; educate people to social awareness and motivate them to act; and advocate for public policy that ensures a just society. Catholic Charities is the leading private provider of human services in Maryland, widely known for creative and compassionate care-giving and for developing programs aimed at self sufficiency. In cherishing the Divine within, regardless of faith, race or circumstance, we improve lives by offering meaningful help and hope so that every person can realize her or his full potential.
Description
My Sister's Place Women's Center, which opened on November 20, 2008, is a comprehensive resource center welcoming Baltimore's homeless and poor women and their children. The mission of the program is to provide a safe, supportive environment where vulnerable women and their families can access housing, referrals, life skills training, and other resources to achieve and sustain self-sufficiency.
MSPWC is the combined new home of three existing Catholic Charities programs: My Sister's Place, Samaritan Center, and Families that Work, and provides, among other things, housing assistance, education and life skills training, benefits advice and enrollment, case management, emergency financial assistance, linkages to other community providers (e.g., for mental health and addiction services), financial literacy services, and personal services (e.g., shower and laundry facilities, mail and telephone access, etc.) MSPWC also provides three meals each day to women and children in need. It is projected that the program will serve between 75 and 125 women and children daily.
