Volunteer with us for our 1-Mile Walk/5K Run! Coffee, donuts, fruit, water, and a free carwash will be provided to all volunteers.
We have eight volunteer opportunities available. When registering, please select the ticket corresponding to the time slot you want to register for.
Volunteer opportunity times and descriptions:
- 6:00-7:00 AM: Assist United Way staff with setting up the start/finish line and unloading our truck with event materials.
- 7:00-8:00 AM: Assisting vendors with setting up their tables and tents.
- 7:30-9:30 AM: Volunteer at one of the two water stations throughout the course, handing out water and/or Gatorade to all runners.
- 7:30- 9:30 AM: Assist with road closure needs.
- 7:30-9:30 AM: Assist with turning signs and directions throughout the course.
- 8:00-11:00 AM: Watch and direct kids at the bounce house (how many kids are allowed at the time, shoes off, age/weight limit at a time, etc.).
- 8:00-9:30 AM: Assist with handing out medals to all finishers.
- 9:30-10:00 AM: Assist with the Kids Run.

United Way evolved from a group of community leaders recognizing the need for a unified effort to respond to human needs, dating back to 1929. The goals and objectives of United Way of Palm Beach County are constantly changing to reflect changes in our local community. We provide funding, volunteer services, assistance with community initiatives, training and implementation of outcome measurement and evaluation, corporate volunteer management assistance and management/program development training.
