Join Our Mission as a Mental Health Peer Support Specialist!
Do you feel called to make a difference in the lives of others? At Lorelei Molinari Home of Mental Health Info & Support Groups, we’re looking for caring and dedicated individuals to join us as Mental Health Peer Support Specialists.
By committing just 1 hour per slot accumulating to 10 OR MORE hours a week for a period of 20 weeks, you’ll play a vital role in supporting people facing mental health challenges and disabilities like: Autism, ADHD, Anxiety, Special Anxiety, Bi-polar, Depression, Loneliness, PTSD.
What We’re Looking For:
Passionate Advocates: People who believe in the power of mental health advocacy and want to inspire hope and empowerment.
- Strong Communicators: Those with excellent communication skills, capable of fostering meaningful conversations in group settings, especially on Zoom.
- Empathetic Leaders: Kind, dependable, and understanding individuals who excel at listening and creating a safe space for others to share.
Qualifications:
- You may be a great fit if you have:
- A Bachelor’s degree in Psychology (or are currently pursuing one), OR
- Personal experience supporting a loved one through mental health challenges, OR
- A background as a nurse, OR
- A college student seeking an unpaid internship to gain valuable experience.
- Preferred Experience: While not required, experience facilitating groups is a plus.
What You’ll Do:
- Lead online support groups that encourage open, honest, and meaningful discussions.
- Provide emotional support to participants, helping them navigate challenges with compassion and sensitivity.
