Cancer Support Community Arizona (CSCAZ), is the only nonprofit organization in Arizona to provide no-cost emotional support services to anyone impacted by cancer of any type throughout their cancer journey. Our services are crucial because, while cancer patients typically receive state-of-the-art medical treatment, effective cancer care also requires the integration of psychological and social services (like what CSCAZ provides) to identify and address issues associated with a cancer diagnosis and prognosis.
We are seeking experienced volunteer class instructors who can provide in-kind programs at our main Palm Lane Campus. Ideal candidates will be experienced professionals in any medium of art but can gear their medium towards a therapeutic offering. We currently offer the following mediums to name a few:
- Clay - Kiln Onsite
- Mixed Media Journaling
- Portraits
- Charcoal
- Pour Painting
- Water Color
- Zen Tangle
Suggested Qualifications:
- Experience facilitating classes or groups in the areas of creative arts.
- Knowledge of the unique needs of those with chronic illnesses is highly desired.
- Evidence of expertise in the subject matter (e.g. degree, years of experience, credentialling and/or licensure)
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Bilingual Opportunities Available
This is a volunteer position in which the facilitator will provide one or more monthly classes in-kind, in-person at our Central Phoenix/Palm Lane location. Dates and Times can be flexible to volunteer's schedule and event needs.
