We are seeking compassionate music companion volunteers to bring comfort, joy, and emotional support to our hospice patients. As a music companion volunteer, you will have the opportunity to share your musical talents with individuals and their families during a challenging time, creating a peaceful and healing atmosphere. Whether you play an instrument, sing, or simply love to bring people together through music, your presence can make a profound impact!

Responsibilities:

  • Perform live music or offer recorded music to hospice patients.

  • Provide emotional support through music during end-of-life care.

  • Work with hospice staff to tailor music sessions to patient preferences.

  • Bring comfort and joy to both patients and their families.

Qualifications:

  • Opportunities to practice empathetic language and compassionate listening
  • A fascinating education about end-of-life issues and goals
  • To provide practical and emotional support to families and hospice patients
  • To gain new friendships and connections
  • To develop knowledge and understanding that improves their own relationships and lives

About Cabrillo Hospice

Location:

32332 Camino Capistrano Suite 201, San Juan Capistrano, CA 92675, US

Mission Statement

Cabrillo Hospice was created to serve; it’s as simple as that. We exist to be more than just health care. We believe that fostering a relationship with each patient and family, which is reflective of their life’s journey, is the key to not only the best care but actively creates the platform for the Cabrillo team to be the most impactful. Creating a culture in an organization that is driven by more than just bottom-line results, we focus on our professionals, structuring a pathway of development for each of them. Simply put, we choose to invest in our most precious resource, the Cabrillo team. There is room in our world for better care and better relationships. We believe we can change the world, and through service, that is exactly what we aim to do.

Description

We simply believe, based on our own experiences with hospice, that we can deliver a superior model of care driven by what people desire most often-more care in the home. In creating a model of care driven by experience and not revenue, we are leading the movement of returning hospice care from big business to its roots founded in community health care. In doing this, Cabrillo is able to deliver world-class service to those we serve; we call this "The Cabrillo Commitment."
