Bridge the digital divide for low-income older adults!Design a program tohelp older adults use technology safely and confidently. This 12 month, full time service position is a great opportunity for a hands-on and creative problem-solver.
To help low-income older adults in Central New York improve their digital skills, avoid scams, access benefits, and stretch their income, the AmeriCorps VISTA Digital Navigator will build and expand Digital Literacy programming. The AmeriCorps VISTA Digital Navigator will build partnerships with host locations like community centers, libraries, and senior housing; create systems for procuring, setting up and maintaining a mobile lab; create a recruitment, training, and management system for Digital Literacy volunteers; test out methods for delivering classes, including scheduling systems, outreach and sign-up methods, data tracking, and collecting feedback to improve the program: and contribute to community-wide efforts to grow digital literacy in our region.
