Please visit the new page to apply.
We are seeking faith-based volunteers to become a mentors at our SLAM program and be equipped to walk Life-on-Life with a student outside of the program. SLAM is a high-energy sports and team-building outreach program that runs in three strategic neighborhoods in Chicago. SLAM is a launching pad for mentors and students to meet, engage in games and discussions together, and work to build deep Life-on-Life relationships that continue outside the walls of SLAM.

Mission Statement
To reach at-risk youth, connect them with life-on-life Christian adult mentors, and develop them holistically in Jesus Christ to the glory of God.
Description
GRIP Outreach for Youth is a 501(c)3 not-for-profit organization created to address the growing epidemic of "fatherlessness" and its consequences on youth in the inner-city. Statistically, fatherless teens show an increased risk for gang activity, violence, drug and alcohol dependence, sexual abuse, high school dropout, teen pregnancy, etc. GRIP leverages sports, hip-hop music, and media arts programs to connect Christian mentors with fatherless youth to mentor them and empower them to positively contribute to society, their communities, their churches and their families.
