Wintercreeper Removal

Save to Favorites

ORGANIZATION: Kirkwood Volunteer Program

  • A group opportunity. Invite your friends.
  • 3 people are interested

Join us as we remove the invasive wintercreeper from trees in Kirkwood Park. Wintercreeper is an invasive plant that spreads easily and can endure harsh conditions, allowing it to spread even more. The plant then covers other trees and shrubs and smothers them to get more sunlight. This can kill the trees and shrubs because they are unable to get the necessary sunlight.

We will be removing the wintercreeper in the trail behind the water tower in Kirkwood Park. This activity will involve bending down and upper body movement.
