Are you friendly, patient and local to the Springerville, Eager, Greer or Alpine areas in the sunny state of Arizona? If so, the Springerville Ranger District and the Apache-Sitgreaves National Forests want you... as a volunteer at the Big Lake Visitor Center! The Springerville Ranger District seeks visitor information volunteers for the daily operation of Big Lake Visitor Center. From a serene perch on the south shore of Big Lake, about 25 miles south of Springerville, visitor center volunteers will welcome guests and dispense knowledge from May 22nd through September 6th during the summer of 2025. Operating hours are Thursday - Sunday from 10:00 am to 4:00 pm and Mondays on holiday weekends (Memorial Day, Fourth of July, and Labor Day).

Minimum commitment is at least two 8-hour shifts per week. More is always welcome, and a season long commitment will be celebrated! Shifts are set on a rotating schedule depending on availability. Volunteers must provide their own transportation.

Please include three references with phone numbers. No family members please and references should be able to gauge your abilities, aptitude and attitude.

A neat, professional appearance makes the right public impression and a Forest Service uniform is provided at no cost. Expect to learn and practice all USFS Safety and Customer Service procedures.
