Pika monitoring volunteers will collect data to help researchers understand the impacts of environmental changes on these animals and develop strategies to mitigate these effects.
Duties include:
- Gathering data from iButtons installed in pika burrows.
- Conducting field observations to monitor pika activity.
- Documenting and recording evidence of pika activity.
- Assisting with uploading and managing data online.
Pika population monitoring will occur at Bandelier National Monument and Valles Caldera National Preserve.
