Apex Community Health Center is a nonprofit clinic dedicated to providing accessible, high-quality healthcare to underserved communities in Los Angeles. Since our founding, we’ve focused on removing barriers to care by offering culturally sensitive services in multiple languages, with a strong emphasis on preventive care, chronic disease management, and community outreach.

We’re proud to serve thousands of patients each year through our comprehensive programs, which include family medicine, pediatrics, behavioral health, women’s health, and health education. Our team works closely with local partners to address social determinants of health and improve health outcomes across the board.

Now, we’re looking for a dedicated Spanish-speaking volunteer to support our outreach efforts. This role involves contacting assigned patients by phone to help them stay on track with appointments, screenings, and general care. You’ll play a key role in improving continuity of care and strengthening the patient-provider relationship-especially for Spanish-speaking individuals who may face language or access barriers.

Volunteer Role:

  • Make phone calls to assigned patients in Spanish

  • Remind patients about appointments and screenings

  • Share health information and help with rescheduling if needed

  • Provide friendly, respectful support

  • Maintain patient confidentiality at all times

What We’re Looking For:

  • Fluent in Spanish and English

  • Clear, compassionate communicator

  • Comfortable using the phone

  • Respectful, reliable, and patient-focused

Schedule:
Flexible - we’ll work with your availability!

Why Volunteer With Apex?

  • Be part of a mission-driven, community-based clinic

  • Make a real impact on patients’ health and well-being

  • Gain valuable experience in healthcare and outreach

  • Join a warm, supportive team that values your contributions

Together, we’ve increased cancer screening rates, helped reduce hospital readmissions, and made care more accessible for our most vulnerable patients. Come be part of our story-and help us write the next chapter.
