Mission Statement
The Bronx Land Trust acts as a steward for 18 community gardens in the Bronx - supporting gardeners and important green spaces in our borough. The gardens are extraordinary assets that provide space for neighbors to come together in positive ways to strengthen the community fabric of the Bronx.
Description
The Bronx Land Trust is led by active, passionate grassroots leaders who meet regularly to make sure that property management responsibilities are met and the needs of member community gardens are addressed. Land trust gardens are located in neighborhoods that have a shortage of safe, usable open space and desperately need places for people to grow food and celebrate their cultures. Created by grassroots groups, the Bronx Land Trust gardens are 25 to 40 years old.
