SafeHouse Center

SafeHouse Center is located in Ann Arbor, Michigan, and is a 501 C3 nonprofit organization helping survivors of domestic and sexual violence in Washtenaw County. SafeHouse Center leads a volunteer training in Feburaury, May and September. At this time, SafeHouse Center is accepting applications for our HYBRID Spring 2025 CORE training. Our volunteer opportunities will be IN-PERSON in ANN ARBOR, MICHIGAN. We DO NOT have any remote opportunities. We highly encourage you to attend one of our virtual volunteer information sessions. Every 1st Monday of the month at 10am or 6pm- You can register for the best date.

SafeHouse Center's training includes attending ALL DATES of our core and specialized training. Anyone who wants to join the direct service volunteer team must attend all dates. Non-direct service volunteers participate in parts of the training. Accommodations for absences are not available.

We have two volunteer umbrellas that community members can apply for Direct Services and Non-Direct Services.

Direct Service programs offer volunteers the opportunity to work directly with survivors and their children. All of these programs involve crisis intervention work.

The mission of SafeHouse Center is to empower survivors of both sexual and intimate partner violence by providing advocacy, support, and promoting social change within our community.

Description

We are here to support survivors of Sexual Assault, survivors of Intimate Partner Violence, Dating Violence and Stalking and their families, friends, and our community. All our services are free, confidential, and available to survivors who live, work or were victimized in Washtenaw County.
SafeHouse Center has two large umbrella groups of volunteer opportunities: Direct Services and Non-Direct Services.

Direct Service programs offer volunteers the opportunity to work directly with survivors and their children. All of these programs involve crisis intervention work.
Non-Direct Service programs do not work directly with survivors, but offer volunteers the opportunity to interact with community members and donors.
