ABOUT US

Asylum seekers, refugees, and other people fleeing persecution arrive in the United States with complex needs that extend beyond just legal services. Without intervention, these circumstances diminish the newcomer’s ability to participate in immigration proceedings. AsylumWorks was created to educate, equip, and empower newcomers across the refugee continuum - asylum seekers, asylees, and resettled refugees - to overcome health, employment, and legal barriers so they thrive in their new communities. Working in partnership with the communities we serve, AsylumWorks is building a world where all refugee newcomers can access the knowledge, tools, and support they need to rebuild safe, stable, and self-sufficient lives.

Direct client services are free and available to individuals and families living in Maryland, Washington, D.C., and Northern Virginia, regardless of language, country of origin, race, religion, sexual orientation, or gender expression.
