Looking for a meaningful way to spend your spring break? Valley Animal Shelter needs your help!
We're looking for dedicated volunteers to assist with:
Cat & Dog Adoption Volunteer Hours:
Monday and Tuesday : CLOSED, NO VOLUNTEERS
Wed-Fri: 9 a.m. - 4 p.m.
Sat-Sun: 10 a.m. - 4 p.m.
CAT ADOPTION CENTER
To ensure the health and wellbeing of our cats and kittens, our main tasks include cleaning and socializing with the animals.
The following list consists of some of the tasks you may be expected to do:
Clean the adoption and intake areas
Clean crates
Sweep
Mop
Fold laundry
Brush cats
Read to cats
Assemble information packets
Socialize with cats
DOG ADOPTION CENTER
To ensure the health and well-being of our dogs and puppies, our main tasks include cleaning and socializing with the animals.
The following list consists of some of the tasks you may be expected to do:
Clean the adoption and intake areas
Clean crates
Sweep

Fold laundry
Assemble information packets
Walk dogs (must attend instructional sessions)
Bathe dogs (must attend instructional sessions)

The opportunity to assist us in maintaining the Dog Park is new and we hope that you please consider volunteering your time in this area.
The following list consists of some of the general housekeeping duties you may be expected to do:
Clean toys
Empty trash cans
Disinfect garbage cans
Wipe down benches
ADMINISTRATION OFFICE
Volunteering your time at our administration office is a new opportunity. Administration office volunteers provide valuable support to our administrative staff.
The following list consists of some of the tasks you may be expected to do:
Answer incoming calls
Monitor the front desk counter
Provide exceptional customer service
Assist with some computer work (Word, Excel, Data Entry)
Stuff envelopes and sort bulk mailingsCut flyers and buck slips

The Valley Animal Center is dedicated to controlling the pet population through education and spaying and neutering, not euthanasia. We believe that animals, as living creatures, have the right to be protected, respected, and given every consideration morally and ethically. Our mission is to assist with and provide for the health and welfare of the animals that have been abused, mistreated, abandoned and injured; promote the bond between animals and people, and to instill an appreciation and respect for all living creatures with whom we share this earth.
Description
Help cleaning kennels/condos and socializing/training/walking our cats and dogs Help at special events throughout the community. Help fundraising including change collection and placing donation boxes at local businesses
Help fostering animals off-site, especially pets too young to be adopted.
