The Tax Project Institute has a rewarding opportunity for volunteers interested in learning and obtaining experience in a Public Policy Institute promoting Transparency, and Open Government. You will have an opportunity to gain experience in a number of areas with many career options in the fields of Finance, Government, Taxation, Research, Media, and Public Policy. You will have access and mentorship from experienced professionals in Finance, and Technology.
- Conduct research on relevant sections of the U.S. tax code, spending and related tax areas.
- Locate, obtain, and analyze financial data from various sources (e.g., government databases, public filings).
- Utilize data analysis tools to organize and extract insights from financial data. (mentoring available, can be learned on job)
- Leverage Technology to Gather and Interpret data
- Validate Facts and Data and cite from Authorative Sources
- Prepare clear and concise reports summarizing research findings and their implications.
- Stay current on tax law updates and relevant policy changes.
- Assist in developing presentations and educational materials based on research findings.
- May participate in occasional meetings and discussions to share research progress.
- Prepare materials to publish Articles and Research to website and social channels
