Recruiting Organization: Food for All DC
Food for All DC ("FFA") is a volunteer-run nonprofit dedicated to reducing food insecurity in Washington, DC. FFA provides nutritious emergency food services to those in need, many of whom are referred by social agencies. We also foster links with other organizations to strengthen emergency food coalitions in the Metro DC area.
FFA’s signature program is the delivery of groceries for homebound clients across D.C. In 2024, we made over 9,300 home deliveries, providing a lifeline for people on low incomes and with little social support. Approximately 25 percent of FFA’s clients have a disability and over half are affected by poor mental or physical health. This means we’re an important participant in the lives of those who cannot fully care for themselves.
If you are interested in combating food insecurity and seeking hands-on experience working directly with vulnerable populations, FFA is a great place to start.
We are seeking an intern who can work 5-10 hours a week performing client intake and outreach.
