Help us to promote diversity, equity, and inclusion in our workplace as a volunteer

Having grown over the years into a very diverse organisation with 14 different nationalities working together, we are committed to an inclusive and equitable working environment where everyone feels valued and respected. We want to underpin our values with clear guidelines that we can also share with our stakeholders.

Furthermore, we aim to:

  • Raise awareness about Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion (DEI) and its impact on our workplace.
  • Identify challenges and barriers to inclusion within our organisation.
  • Provide practical recommendations and strategies for fostering an inclusive and equitable work culture.
  • Equip employees and leadership with tools and knowledge to integrate DEI principles into daily interactions and decision-making.

We want to provide a workplace where:

  • Everyone feels respected.
  • Everyone has equal chances to succeed.
  • We value our different backgrounds to work better together.

The volunteer supports us with the following:

Understanding Our Workplace

  • To assess at how we do things now
  • Find what needs to be improved

Making Rules and Guidelines

  • Support the development of clear, practical DEI guidance to promote treating everyone with respect, grounded in our core values.
  • Providing support to ensure fair practices in human resources and operational processes.

Train Everyone

Develop and conduct a training for all Child’s Dream employees during our annual workshop in Chiang Mai, taking place from 27th May - 29th May 2025, followed by an in-depth one-day workshop at our office to raise awareness and improve understanding of DEI-what it means and how to implement it in the workplace, daily life, and projects.

  • Help line managers learn to lead diverse teams
  • Raise awareness about DEI, our attitudes, and behaviors, and how they might be perceived.
  • Develop an onboarding session for new employees and related ToT training so that the session can be conducted by the Child’s Dream HR Team going forward

Supporting Continuous Growth

  • Set up ways to report problems
  • Design a user-friendly, self-assessment tracking system that allows the organization to regularly measure and evaluate the progress of DEI initiatives
  • Create comprehensive DEI training resources to use for annual refresher trainings

Our outcome

  • New workplace guidelines and DEI guideline
  • Training materials
  • Tools to evaluate progress of implemented measurements

Timeline

Given the preparation time required for the two workshops-one to be conducted at the end of May 2025 and the other at a later date-the volunteer should ideally begin on 1 st May 2025. We aim to find a volunteer for a minimum duration of three months, which can be part-time if time permits. The goal is to conclude the project with the development of clear guidelines, and potentially a DEI guideline, along with an evaluation tool and onboarding and refresher training in place.

We look forward to collaborating with you to achieve our DEI objectives and drive positive change within our organization.

Did we spark your interest? Wonderful! Please send your full application in English (including motivational letter, resume, university transcripts) to nyein@childsdream.org .

The application deadline is 13 th April 2025.

We will of course confirm that we have received your application and we will only get in contact with you again if you are selected for an interview.
