Are you passionate about defending science, advocating for evidence-based policies, and building a community of empowered scientists? Our partner organization: The People’s Science Collective (PSC) is looking for dedicated volunteers to join their team!

PSC is a grassroots organization connecting scientists, resisting anti-science agendas, and supporting impacted federal workers. They’re creating a space for collaboration, advocacy, and action-and need your help to make it happen.

Open Positions

  1. Communications Volunteers: Oversee messaging, social media, and public outreach efforts.
  2. Programming Volunteers: Develop and manage events, webinars, and initiatives to engage our community.
  3. Membership Volunteers: Build and support our network of scientists, advocates, and allies.
  4. Research Volunteers: Lead the creation of reports and newsletters documenting science policy changes and the impacts of anti-science policies.

What PSC is Looking For

  • A passion for defending science and advocating for the public good.
  • Strong organizational and leadership skills.
  • Experience in advocacy, communications, event planning, or related fields (depending on the role).
  • A collaborative spirit and commitment to horizontal, non-hierarchical leadership.
  • Availability to dedicate a few hours per month to PSC’s mission.

We stand for: 1) The open access of scientific information to the general public. 2) The use of science for the common good and in the preservation of an informed democracy. 3) The protection of human and environmental rights.

Description

The New York City March for Science recognizes the importance of an informed democracy in order to maintain a free, healthy, happy, and accessible society. That is why we come together as a community of non-partisan scientists and friends to show the importance of protecting and promoting people’s rights, the public’s access to scientific information, the environment in which we exist, and scientific research. We hope to use this march to spark increased community involvement for the promotion of science for the common good through sustained action.
