Orange Hospice is seeking compassionate individuals to join our volunteer team and make a meaningful impact on the lives of hospice patients and their families. As a Companion Volunteer, you will have the opportunity to visit hospice patients in their homes or care facilities of residence to provide vital respite for caregivers while offering companionship and support to those facing end-of-life journeys.
Key Responsibilities:
- Patient Companionship: Spend quality time with hospice patients in their homes or care facilities of residence, offering companionship and a supportive presence.
- Enrichment: Give patients some variety and joy in their life through various activities such as taking them out for a walk, doing arts and crafts, playing music, playing games, or simply sitting and chatting, watching TV, listening to music, etc.
- Emotional Support: Offer a listening ear and a caring heart to patients and their families during challenging times.
