We are Mentor A Promise, a nonprofit organization dedicated to providing social-emotional learning, academic support, and mentoring for students experiencing housing challenges and homelessness.

At MAP, we aim to serve as an agent of change and thoughtfully contribute to the growth and development of our students through innovative curriculum.

The Financial Instructor plays a critical role in shaping the academic vision and instructional strategy for our new program to help our students understand finance.

What You’ll Accomplish

Academic Vision

  • Develop and implement a cohesive instructional vision about finance and basic economic principles.

Curriculum & Instructional Leadership

  • Provides direction and leadership on the development of a comprehensive curriculum about understanding finance.

Who You Are

We seek a Financial Instructor who:

  • Defines and drives an instructional vision.
  • Can design and implementing large-scale instructional initiatives with measurable impact.
  • Has deep knowledge of curriculum design, culturally responsive teaching, and evidence-based instructional practices.
  • Can produce results through other leaders by creating/implementing structures for support and oversight.

Description

We partner with family temporary housing sites across New York, educational institutions, and community organizations to create a strong support network for young people experiencing homelessness, helping them overcome challenges and forge their own path to success. We connect students with our mentors for in-person and online programs.
