ORGANIZATION: Services for the UnderServed

Services for the UnderServed's Manhattan Without Walls (Manhattan WOW) is a skill building program where people with intellectual/developmental disabilities receive training for daily living skills, such as communication and self-preservation, community awareness, independent living and pre-vocational skills. It opened its doors in 2017 and currently serves 30 individuals. They are starting a class that teaches resume and employment readiness skills. Volunteers would teach weekly, biweekly or monthly for one to two hours.

Responsibilities

  • Teach an employment readiness class
  • Help create LinkedIn accounts

Preferred Skills

  • Knowledgeable in employment readiness and resume building
  • Experienced with individuals with intellectual/developmental disabilities
  • Teaching experience
