Are you looking for a meaningful way to give back to the community? Do you enjoy spending time with young children and making a difference in their early learning experiences? The YWCA Children's Center Dreamery at Edison is looking for caring and enthusiastic volunteers to assist in our Pre-Kindergarten classrooms!

We need volunteers to help during the 1st, 2nd, or 3rd shifts, offering just a few hours of your time to support our dedicated classroom teachers.

Join us as you have time.

As a volunteer, you’ll have the opportunity to:

Assist with fun and engaging classroom activities
Read stories and inspire a love of books
Help with creative play and learning experiences
Support teachers during nap time to ensure a calm and restful environment

Qualifications:
1. Must be 18 years of age, or 17 years and in a vocation related to education /early education.
2. Ability to work with babies, toddlers and small children.
3. Patience and calm demeanor
5. Ability to work with people of diverse backgrounds
7. Agree to fingerprinting - YWCA covers all expenses related to the fingerprint.

Volunteers are not meant to substitute for
employees; instead, they are invited to join us in assisting staff with their needs.


Responsibilities:
1. Provide support to teachers and assistance to students with daily tasks.
5. Safeguard confidential information

Training Requirements:
1. General understanding of YWCAs Mission.
3. Completion of the following Improving The Lives Of Children Trainings, which are conducted onsite.

1. Infant Safe Sleep
2. Health and Safety for Childcare Providers Module
