Position: Volunteer Meal Packer
Location: Good Harvest Community Kitchen, Baltimore, MD
Schedule: 9 a.m. - 12 p.m., flexible shifts available as program needs evolve
Position Overview
As a Food Packing Associate, you will play a vital role in supporting our food access social enterprise by assisting in the preparation and assembly of congregate and individually packaged meals. Your efforts will be contributing directly to Good Harvest’s mission to alleviate food insecurity, and ensure nutritious food reaches individuals and families living in food desert areas within the Greater Baltimore region.
Responsibilities
- Participate in the preparation and assembly of congregate and individually packaged meals
- Ensure proper labeling, storage, and organization of packed food items
- Maintain a clean and organized work area throughout the packing process
- Adhere to all food safety and handling protocols
- Collaborate with other volunteers and staff
- Provide feedback and suggestions for process improvements
Qualifications
- Commitment to the mission of improving food access in underserved communities
- Physical capability to stand for extended periods and lift meal containers up to 25 pounds
- Strong teamwork and communication skills
- Willingness to learn and adapt to evolving processes and needs
