What You’ll Do:
This volunteer role will involve helping our small business clients set up and maintain their accounting systems, troubleshoot issues, generate financial reports, and provide training on best practices. You will play a vital role in empowering entrepreneurs to understand their financial health and make informed business decisions.
Responsibilities:
Setup and Configuration: Assist small business owners with setting up their QuickBooks accounts, including chart of accounts, customer/vendor lists, and banking integrations.
Data Entry and Reconciliation: Guide clients on proper data entry practices, bank reconciliations, and credit card reconciliations.
Troubleshooting and Problem Solving: Diagnose and resolve QuickBooks errors and issues, providing clear and concise solutions.
Financial Reporting: Help clients generate and interpret financial reports, such as Profit & Loss statements, Balance Sheets, and Cash Flow statements.
Training and Education: Provide one-on-one or group training on QuickBooks features and best practices.
Best Practice Guidance: Offer advice on accounting principles and financial management tailored to small business needs.
Maintain Confidentiality: Handle sensitive financial information with discretion and professionalism.
Documentation: Maintain clear and concise documentation of client interactions and solutions.
Qualifications:
- Proven proficiency in QuickBooks Online.
- Strong understanding of accounting principles and practices.
- Ability to communicate complex financial information clearly and effectively.
Time Commitment:
2 - 3 hours a week to work over Zoom with clients.

Description
MBMentors was founded in January of 2020, as a 501(c)3, all-volunteer, non-profit business services organization. We are a group of experienced businesspeople whose mission is to give back to our business community. All volunteers have extensive business experience and expertise in starting, running and growing businesses.
Our 20+ team members desire is to help our clients succeed in starting and operating their business ventures. Our services include: 1:1 business coaching/mentoring, educational webinars, business plan support, CEO Roundtables and a Women's Collective for and by women in business.
Mentoring/Coaching clients are assigned to an advisor based on his/her specific needs and business challenges. Volunteers and clients have the option of meeting in-person, through email, phone, or video conferencing. Meetings occur as frequently as the client request. There is no cost to our clients for the services we provide.
