KultureCity is making Big Umbrella Festival sensory accessible and inclusive for people with invisible disabilities!! Sensory bags and sensory rooms will be provided alongside trained and certified personnel to ensure an unforgettable time is had for people of all abilities.

By volunteering, you will be ensuring that Big Umbrella Festival is accessible and inclusive for people with sensory needs. The population positively impacted includes but is not limited to those with: autism, ADHD, PTSD, demensia, epilepsy, anxiety disorders, and many other invisible disabilities

KultureCity is looking for enthusiastic volunteers that are willing assist with the following tasks:

  • Distribute sensory bags to those with sensory processing disorders
  • Maintain sensory rooms and spaces for those in need
  • Collect social media content to promote activation
  • Assist main KultureCity lead in all other efforts needed to maintain the activation

KultureCity is requiring the following to volunteer for this special opportunity:

  • Age 16+
  • Willing to take a ~30 minute online training followed by a 10 question quiz
  • Strong organizational and interpersonal skills
  • A positive attitude and genuine desire to help others in need

The activation will be located in Damrosch Park; Amsterdam Ave &, W 62nd St, New York, NY 10023. Entrance is on the north side of West 62nd Street, between Columbus and Amsterdam.

Hours available April 4-6, 9-13, and 16-20 from 11:00 am-6:00 pm
