The Boys & Girls Club of Vista Foundation is looking for a volunteer to serve on its Board as a trustee. The Foundation is a separate 501c3 that is dedicated to supporting the Boys & Girls Club of Vista through by monitoring the Club's endowment/investments and marketing its planned giving program. The goal is to build the endowment to leave a legacy for future generations of youth by providing the Boys & Girls Club of Vista with investment income for general operating expenses.

We are looking for someone that cares about the Boys & Girls Club mission and goals. The candidate will provide help with financial management and assist in marketing planned giving programs such as wills, bequests, insurance, trusts, etc. The Foundation meets 3 meetings a year.

A candidate must pass a nnual background check and guard against conflicts of interest, whether business-related or personal.

Description

Established in 1963, BGCV meets the needs of youth ages 5-18 regularly at five program sites serving youth residing primarily in Vista and Oceanside, California. BGCV is open "when kids need us most" - after school, on most school holidays and during the summer. BGCV offers safe places just for kids where they can learn, grow, and succeed.

Club programs help Club members build healthy habits for life and how to be resilient leaders through mentorship, accountability while developing a growth mindset.

Club programs include:

  • Education: Career Launch, STEM, music and homework assistance and literacy practice
  • Health and Wellness: health, fitness, prevention/education and self-esteem enhancement and a Children’s Food Garden
  • Leadership and Service: leadership development opportunities for youth.
  • Sports and Recreation: comprehensive sports and recreational fitness programs.
