We are looking for compassionate individuals to make a significant impact on the well-being and quality of life of our residents residing in our assisted living facilities within the State of West Virginia. As a volunteer, you would serve with our Regional Long-Term Care Ombudsmen and would volunteer your time, assistance, and companionship.

Mission Statement
The West Virginia Long-Term Care Ombudsman Program is a part of Legal Aid of West Virginia on a contractual basis with the West Virginia Bureau of Senior Services. The purpose of our Long-Term Care Ombudsman Program is to serve the residents of West Virgnia who reside in long-term care facilities within the State of West Virginia.
Description
The West Virginia Long-Term Care Ombudsman Program hopes to add a group of VOLUNTEER Ombudsmen who will visit our Assisted Living facilities twice a month.

REQUIREMENTS
- Driver's License Needed
- Background Check
- Must be at least 18
- Orientation or Training
- 36 hours of certification training with 10 hours of shadowing and field training
- We ask for one year of service. Once certified, you will visit your assigned assisted living facility every 2 weeks for at least 2 hours each visit. Also required to obtain 25 hours of re-certification hours during the year, which we make available.
