Project C.U.R.E. is the world's largest distributor of donated medical supplies, equipment, and international medical relief services to doctors and nurses in more than 135 countries. To support this global humanitarian work, we need volunteers to help with developing and planning cargo projects.
Our Cargo Program is our delivery program for donated medical supplies and equipment. It is our core work, and our primary mission implementation programming. We field requests for donated medical resources from a wide range of sources and through multiple channels. Our fir st service to requestors is to determine if their needs are aligned to Project C.U.R.E.’s work. Cargo volunteers will be "first responders" to help us field and direct inquiries. In addition, our cargo volunteers will assist with the early stages of project development as we set up projects for successful implementation.
We need p eople with a global mindset, excellent communication skills , critical thinking ability , a capacity to focus on accuracy and detail, and a heart for humanitarian aid work.
Desired skill s and knowledge : experience with customer service, the ability to speak and write with clarity and diplomacy for varied audiences , knowledge of basic global geography , and overall organizational skills . Project management experience and general global health knowledge is highly relevant, but not critical. Comfort working with Microsoft Office and CRM systems will be helpful.
Initially, we ask that you come into the office to get to know our systems and processes, but after 2-3 weeks of in person time, we envision this position could be hybrid, with regular check-ins . This volunteer opportunity requires 8-12 hours per week.
