Job Title: Volunteer University STEM Program Coordinator

Location: Remote

STEM Canada is a registered not-for-profit global program that specializes in an advanced, bar-none STEM-based educational curriculum that emphasizes the interconnected subject areas of science, technology, engineering, and math (STEM). The STEM program is open to all students from preschool to high school with the mission to deliver top-notch STEM literacy and application, designed to teach students in the STEM fields, yielding globally competitive results.

OVERVIEW:

Are you passionate about advancing STEM education at the university level? To spearhead projects, cultivate scholarly collaborations, and promote interaction with faculty and students, we are looking for a committed University STEM Program Coordinator. This volunteer role presents a special chance to encourage creativity, strengthen ties between academia and business, and advance STEM education quality.

DUTIES:

  • Create and carry out academic programs and STEM projects in partnership with universities.
  • Form alliances with academics, research centers, and business executives.
  • Plan and direct STEM competitions, workshops, and activities at the university level.
  • Assist students in obtaining mentorship programs, internships, and research opportunities.
  • Encourage university financing possibilities and STEM education.
  • Encourage cooperation between industry partners and STEM departments at universities.
  • Help create and improve curricula that meet industry demands.
  • Organize outreach initiatives to encourage inclusion and diversity in STEM professions.
  • Support university STEM activities administratively and logistically.
  • Attend university activities, employment fairs, and academic conferences as a representative of STEM Canada.

REQUIREMENTS:

  • Experience or degree in education or a STEM-related area.
  • Expertise in research, student involvement, or academic program coordination.
  • Strong leadership, communication, and organizing abilities.
  • The capacity to cooperate with external stakeholders, students, and university professors.
  • Enthusiasm for innovation, mentoring, and STEM education.
  • Expertise in program development, educational outreach, or event planning.
  • The capacity to oversee several projects and work autonomously.
